Lady White Review!

Lady White by Gina Bovyn

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1617778753/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_img

Book Description:
Lady WhiteMy mother murdered by my father's hand. All whom I loved taken by a jealous God. An undeserving bounty on my head. I had no choice but to become what I am. The Realm's sole purpose was to glorify the God who created them. Yet as selfishness and greed grew in the hearts of men, the Realm's purpose was forgotten. Only the Kingdom of Linolae withstood the power of the evil one and made a stand against his lusting allies, remembering the God who always caused them to triumph. But the times grow darker and an army must arise. Only a lass worthy can lead this kingdom to victory and save the Realms from their own destruction. From the loins of a very  unsuspecting maiden will she come.
Alina aer Anya, otherwise known as the White Lady, carries a sordid past as she rides with her band of men killing for the nobles' coin. She searches for her own path in life, one without trust, without love, and without the God of her mother. But as she rides to fulfill a task for a power-hungry ruler, she finds a crossroad in her path, and her hardened heart begins to soften. Will she allow evil forebodings and her sordid past to keep her from a trusting friend and the arms of the man she loves? Or will she turn at life's crossroad and begin her days anew? As she pens her tale in the dungeon of King Richard, only her writings and the hope of escape keep her alive.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1617778753/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_img

My Opinion:
This book was wonderful! I could read it again and again (and I'm not one to re-read a book when I'm done!) Alina's tale is not for the faint of heart though! Raw, real, and beautiful. This book will take you through dark times and lead to the light. Fill you with strength and hope. Gina expresses God's enduring love and patients perfectly! This book instilled in me a greater and stronger faith! I was so broken hearted in the dark times and so joyful in the wonderful times. I didn't want Lady White to end! An amazing journey and wonderful adventure!

And because I LOVED this book SO much I couldn't just choose one song!: "Awesome God" by Rich Mullins, "Redeemed" by Big Daddy Weave, "Forgiven" by Sanctus Real, and finally "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perry (A Thousand Years portrays both the love of God and the love of Alina's love)

The Bridesmaid Review!

The Bridesmaid by Beverly Lewis

http://www.amazon.com/Bridesmaid-The-Home-Hickory-Hollow/dp/0764209787/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351368662&sr=8-1&keywords=the+bridesmaid

Book Description:
Bridesmaid, The (Home to Hickory Hollow)Twenty-seven-year-old Joanna Kurtz has made several trips to the altar, but never as a bride. The single young Amishwoman is a closet writer with a longing to be published something practically unheard of in her Lancaster County community. Yet Joanna's stories aren't her only secret. She also has a beau who is courting her from afar, unbeknownst even to her sister, Cora, who, though younger, seems to have suitors to spare.

Eben Troyer is a responsible young Amishman who hopes to make Joanna Kurtz his bride--if he can ever leave his parents' farm in Shipshewana, Indiana. Yet with his only brother off in the English world, intent on a military career, Eben's hopes for building a life with his dear Joanna are dimming, and patience is wearing thin. Will Joanna ever be more than a bridesmaid?

http://www.amazon.com/Bridesmaid-The-Home-Hickory-Hollow/dp/0764209787/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351368662&sr=8-1&keywords=the+bridesmaid

My Opinion:
The Bridesmaid is a great work of fiction! Beverly Lewis is a magnificent writer and I absolutely love Hickory Hollow. I felt truly close to Joanna in her times of mourning, happiness, betrayal, and forgiveness, and I am so happy that it was her character Beverly broadened. This is a wonderful book that will take you on a fun journey hop scotching from the beach, to the hollow, to Indiana, and back again! This is the second time I have had a "mind vacation" (if you will) in Hickory Hollow, and I can't wait to return in The Guardian! Thank you Beverly for allowing God to lead you and for glorifying Him with the gifts He has blessed you with. Through you He has touched me deeply with this story, from forgiving those that hurt us greatly, to keeping faith and being patient while waiting for God's time and guidance in the decisions we are faced with.

My songs for this book are: "Someday Soon" by Francesca Battistelli ("Someday Soon" doesn't fit perfectly mind you because this is an Amish romance and cars are mentioned so keep that in mind) and the second is "How Great Is The Love" by Meredith Andrews

Central Park Rendezvous Review

Central Park Rendezvous by
Ronie Kendig, Dineen Miller,
Kim Vogel Sawyer, and MarLu Tyndall

Central Park Rendezvous (Romancing America)

Book Description:
Welcome to the Big Apple where four generations of heroes find a love that never ends. Home from Afghanistan, Sean Wolfe is avoiding his dreams. Will Jamie Russo and an old coin give him new hope? Once betrayed by love, Alan James is embittered. Will a sweet reunion in Central Park heal his broken heart? Helen Wolfe is struggling to provide for herself and her family. Is Bernie O’Day her answer to prayer? Damaged in body and soul by war, William Wolfe’s fiancĂ©e has rejected him. Will he ever risk his heart again? Will love persevere despite unimaginable odds?

My Opinion:
This book is a wonderful example of why I LOVE Romancing America! It holds great mysteries, secrets, romance, and some shocking endings! It is paced well and the four books fit just right together. Even though it is written by 4 different authors the novels ebb and flow wonderfully together. Excellent historical romances that bring beauty from war. Typos plagued "A Love Meant to Be" but I'm just warning you. My favorite was MaryLu Tyndall's "Beauty From Ashes", get it and see which one is your favorite! All of the authors are unique and imaginative!

My song choices can be interchanged with the novels but I have four that I like with these books: "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" by Dean Martin, "Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts, "At The Beginning (LP Version)" by Richard Marx & Donna Lewis, and "So Close" by Jon McLaughlin

Autumn Changes Review!

Autumn Changes by Beverly Nault

http://www.amazon.com/Autumn-Changes-Seasons-Cherryvale-Volume/dp/0615688896/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1350926963&sr=8-2&keywords=Beverly+Nault

Book Description:
Autumn Changes: Book Two in the Seasons of Cherryvale (Volume 2)
Along with shorter days and cooler nights, big changes are stirring up Cherryvale! While the trees along the CherryPath exchange summer-green garments to autumn's crimson and gold, Grace and Maggie scurry to prepare for the town's annual Harvest Festival, but spar over how to help pop star Tiffany Lane adapt to her new lifestyle and adoptive hometown. A surprise visitor--or two--spice up the town like cinnamon in Grace's pumpkin walnut muffins just in time for "The Scrapbook's" preview opening. The second book in The Seasons of Cherryvale, Autumn Changes continues the stories of the friendly folks and charming small town introduced in the much loved" Fresh Start Summer."  Will peaceful Cherryvale be the same after all the changes blown in on the autumn wind?

http://www.amazon.com/Autumn-Changes-Seasons-Cherryvale-Volume/dp/0615688896/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1350926963&sr=8-2&keywords=Beverly+Nault

My Opinion:
Beverly did it again! This time she grabs you and drags you right into the Cherryvale action! I LOVED getting to know Maggie and Grace better after reading Hearts Unlocked. Beverly's writing about Faith is real and touching. This is a GREAT portrayal of God's unending, freely given LOVE! I cried and laughed again and again. I feel as though the 'Valers and I are old friend. Hearts Unlocked is timelined after Autumn Changes, but my advice/recommendation to you is to get both and read how you choose. I read Hearts Unlocked first and didn't regret it one bit. :) A wonderful, fun story with love, forgiveness, and redemption! I had issues with the editing (some words repeated and other typos, but don't let that stop you from reading)

My song choices for this book are: "How Great Thou Art" by Carrie Underwood and "Fix Me Jesus" by Queen Latifa

Patchwork Dreams Review!

Patchwork Dreams by Laura V. Hilton

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1603742557/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title

Book Description:
Patchwork Dreams (Amish Of Seymour V1) (The Amish of Seymour)Ever since returning from her rumspringa pregnant and unwed, Becky Troyer has been a pariah in her Amish community in Missouri. Even after the young mother confesses her sin and rejoins the church, her peers continue to shun her, and she despairs the unlikelihood of marrying for love. It seems that her only hope is to eventually marry a widower with a family of his own.

Becky's world changes when Jacob Miller arrives at her family's farm with the understanding that he will help with chores during the summer and then return to Pennsylvania. What Jacob does not know is that his father, who disapproves of Jacob's sweetheart, Susie, sent him away as part of a plan to introduce new blood into the Amish community of Seymour. In addition to his work around the farm, Jacob undertakes the task of cheering up the lovely yet listless Becky, inviting her to various youth gatherings and offering her the only unconditional friendship she's known.

As their relationship grows, the two find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other. Will Becky and Jacob overcome their insecurities and self–doubts so that their love can grow, or will Jacob keep his pledge to Susie and turn his back on Becky, as so many others have done?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1603742557/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title

My Opinion:
My mom found this book in a catalog and asked if I would be interested in reading it. After reading the first 9 words of the back cover I was SOLD! And I was very happy with the read! This is a FABULOUS book! Patchwork Dreams takes you on a journey of forgiveness, self worth, and finding out God's plans are far better than our own! Wonderful characters; you will fall in love with Jacob right along with Becky! But can Jacob let go of Susie to follow God's plans for him? Read Patchwork Dreams to find out! A wonderful, unique story. A MUST READ in my opinion! And this book will leave you wanting more! Harvest Hearts preview will sending you running to read it next!

My song choices are: "I Will" by Jimmy Wayne and "He Leadeth Me" by the Cluster Pluckers

A Lady Like Sarah Review!

A Lady Like Sarah by Margaret Brownley

Book Description:
A Lady Like Sarah (A Rocky Creek Romance)
She’s an outlaw.

He’s a preacher.

Both are in need of a miracle.

Sarah Prescott has never known a respectable life. Just a hardscrabble childhood and brothers who taught her to shoot first and ask questions later.
Justin Wells left Boston in disgrace, heading out alone on the dusty trail to Texas. But when the once-respected clergyman encounters a feisty redhead in handcuffs with a dying U.S. Marshal at her side, their journey takes a dramatic turn.
His high-society expectations and Sarah’s outlaw habits clash from the start. With a price on her head and towing an orphaned baby rescued from the brink of starvation, Justin and Sarah make the difficult journey toward Rocky Creek. There, justice will be meted out. Perhaps—they hope—with a healthy portion of grace.
Filled with mishaps, laughs, and adventure, Margaret Brownley’s inspiring romance will keep readers cheering for Sarah as she struggles to become a true lady.

My Opinion:
Margaret Brownley has done it again! A Lady Like Sarah is fabulous! After reading the first book I had ever read from Margaret (Dawn Comes Early) I rushed and order A Lady Like Sarah, and I wasn't disappointed! Sarah is a real and different character; unlike any other heroine you will ever read about! I absolutely LOVE this book and the twists presented within! Suspense, adventure, and near death experiences! This book is awesome! :) I highly recommend this book (and anything Margaret writes), you will NOT be disappointed! This tale will lead you down a road of finding faith, being saved, and of coarse finding love not only through the characters but through Jesus Christ as well!

My song for this will be: "Amazing Grace" by Cecilia

"The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:14

Hearts Unlocked Review

Hearts Unlocked by Beverly Nault

http://www.amazon.com/Hearts-Unlocked-Cherryvale-Thanksgiving-Romance/dp/0615687164/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

Book Description:
Hearts Unlocked: A Cherryvale Thanksgiving RomanceFrom the popular Seasons of Cherryvale, this Thanksgiving romance novella will warm your heart like grandma's pies fresh from the oven. Young social worker, STEPHANIE ALLAN, is new on the job and determined to make it on her own. When handsome movie star, BRANDON MCCALLISTER arrives, he spices things up, triggering all her hot buttons. Will she set aside her pride and open her heart to his playful persistence? Welcome to Cherryvale, where neighbors care, gardeners share, and God allows do-overs. Brick-lined streets, and charming 1900's era storefronts lure tourists and destination travelers for an afternoon of antiquing, kite flying in Cherryvale park, or a visit to Maggie's petting farm. Take a stroll around the CherryPath, a unique artery that winds through homes and past the white steepled church, connecting 'Valers as one in heart and mind,* and then stop in for ice cream sundaes at the Lunch Bucket. You'll never want to leave, and the folks of Cherryvale hope you'll return again and again. (*Acts 4:32) From Fresh Start Stories...because everyone needs one from time to time.

http://www.amazon.com/Hearts-Unlocked-Cherryvale-Thanksgiving-Romance/dp/0615687164/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

My Opinion:
What a GREAT book! Hearts Unlocked is a short story that is full of humor, love, and awesome characters! Beverly Nault's writing is phenomenal and her characters are real and lovable. She makes Brandon the kind of character we hope our favorite movie star truly is (Oh Rupert Grint, if only!). I laughed, I almost cried, and I rooted for Steph's relationships all the way through! I read this book in the Fall and it's perfect. You can almost taste and smell the hot apple cider and pumpkin pie! I have officially fallen in love with Cherryvale and can't wait to return! I also love the cover (and now I want that necklace! LOL!). One issue I had, but it is so minor I breezed over it, was some of the texts. I am text illiterate and I have no clue what some of them where, but I digress! I love the ending and a book with a great ending is always worth the read!

My songs for this book are: "I Want You" by Fefe Dobson and "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" by Alan Jackson

Exodus 14:14

Maple Notch Brides Review!!!

Notch Brides (Romancing America) by Darlene Franklin

Book Description:
Maple Notch Brides (Romancing America)Climb into adventure in the Green Mountain State where party politics, parental pressure, and personal misperceptions challenge three couples. Sally Reid and her family of Patriots are in hiding. Can she trust Josiah Tuttle, a man whose father is loyal to King George? Beatrice Bailey’s wealthy father wants his daughter to marry up—not down. Does farmer Calvin Tuttle have any chance of winning Beatrice’s heart and her father’s blessing? Clara Farley has accepted the role of spinster. Can Daniel Tuttle get her to change her mind? Will God show these couples a way above the fray?

My Opinion:
I LOVE this book and have read it more than once. This was my first Romancing America Novella Collection I had ever read. It is FABULOUS!!! Maple Notch Brides flows beautifully from one book to the next as is goes from generation to generation. The wonderful concept of linking all of the books in this way is wonderful. Each story was unique and different. Linked by family ties and Jesus all of these stories are fabulous. Historical and refreshing. I can't wait to read more Romancing America after this, and I must recommend that you read this book. Darlene Franklin is a great writer and she leads you through adventure after adventure!

I have one song choice for this book. It is one that I have used before, and it is one of my favorite hymns that works with every story through the book: "He Leadeth Me" by The Cluster Pluckers

John 3:16 (Read it, Believe it, and Be Saved!!!)

Sadie's Montana Books 1-3 Review

Wild Horses (Sadie's Montana) by Linda Byler

Book Description:
Wild Horses (Sadie's Montana)The Miller family's move from Ohio to Montana was, for the most part, uneventful, except that Sadie Miller had to leave her beloved horse, the palomino named Paris. Still, she likes the Montana snows and her job at Aspen East Ranch serving the ranch hands.
Unexpectedly, Ezra appears, the man who seems to be perfect in every way and fully intends to marry Sadie. But does she love him back? And who is this fascinating Mark who helps to rescue a dying horse and shows up at the Amish hymn-sing though he is English? Why can't she get his dark eyes and tall stature out of her mind?
Now Sadie's own close-knit family is falling apart. Mam claims her head is cluttered and unclear, and she no longer trusts herself to make a chocolate cake from scratch or to cut Reuben's hair in a straight line. The worst part is, Dat refuses to acknowledge Mam's struggles.
Sadie finds some refuge in Nevaeh, a black and white paint. But when a dreadful accident involving wild horses occurs, Sadie must move forward into the unknown future.
Will Dat let Mam seek professional help? Will Mam be willing to go?
Will Mark be at the next hymn-sing? Is he Amish or English? Will he like her favorite pink dress?
Will she see the wild horses again? Why do these phantom-like animals take her breath away every time they appear on the horizon?

My Opinion:
This was the first book from Linda Byler that I ever read. I loved it so much I went right out and bought the sequel! This took me by surprise with Linda's twists and turns! The relationship between characters is fabulous, and the ending could not have been foreseen! This book is heartbreaking in parts, mysterious, and shocking in others. Fabulous all the way around! I did have a few issues with the editing, WARNING: possible spoiler alert, but editing error alert! The horse Nevaeh was changed from a boy to a girl constantly in the book, and the main characters name was changed in one scene to something completely different (which was a little confusing). Also some things (in my own opinion) where unrealistic; mainly when talking about the horses. Even though I had some issues with the errors I was SO happy I read it, and I couldn't wait for the next book "Keeping Secrets Book2 (Sadie's Montana)".

My first song for this book is not a perfect fit because this is an Amish book, but I just like it: "The Way I Loved You" by Taylor Swift

And my second is: "Pass Me Not" by Cluster Pluckers

Acts 16:31 (Read it, Believe it, and Be Saved!!!)

Keeping Secrets Book2 (Sadie's Montana) by Linda Byler

Book Description:
Keeping Secrets: Sadie's Montanta (Book Two) (Sadie's Montana)There’s horse trouble in Montana again. Only this time, horses aren’t being stolen, they’re being shot. Snipers are driving a blue pickup and shooting selectively. No hard-working ranch horse or Amish horse and buggy is safe.

Still, Sadie rides, despite daily warnings from Dorothy down in the kitchen of Aspen East Ranch. But Sadie’s getting used to ignoring Dorothy’s advice. Sadie’s heart is set on Mark even though Dorothy tells her to steer clear after he ditches her in the middle of their first date.

Mark, on the other hand, finds it hard to tell Sadie the secrets of his past. He tells her pieces of the shadowy story, then won’t speak to her for weeks.

As Sadie’s world spins out of control, her palomino, Paris, remains her sole confidant. But does Sadie put Paris in danger every time they go riding? Or, together, can they discover who these mysterious snipers are?

Why, Sadie wonders desperately, are there so many secrets? Will the truth surface, or is it too hard to bear?

My Opinion:
Again Linda Byler takes you on a shocking and mysterious journey! Again with Sadie we are on a, at times, dangerous adventure! In this book Linda will break your heart, make you laugh, and shout for joy! The mystery surrounding Mark is revealed. Sadie is almost killed, again! And will Mark and Sadie end up happy and together. Or will there be someone else? Linda's characters are wonderful from the main to the minor! Excellent, wonderful book! A must read! Full of twists and surprises!

My songs for this book are: "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" by the Cluster Pluckers and "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" by Alan Jackson

John 3:15-16 (Read it, Believe it, and Be Saved!!!)

The Disappearances (Sadie's Montana) by Linda Byler

Book Description:
The Disappearances: Sadie's Montana (Book Three)
Sadie may be married now, but she’s as spirited as ever, and her life is far from tame.

In fact, soon after she and Mark are settled into the farmhouse which Mark is renovating, she’s visited by three FBI agents who question her about the two children who mysteriously appeared one day at the Ranch. Before the agents leave, they warn Sadie that her beloved horse, Paris, is highly valuable, and that she and Mark may be in grave danger because of Paris.

This news, on top of Mark’s unexpected black moods, leaves Sadie sometimes wishing she could go home, “lay her head on Mam’s shoulder, and ask why she hadn’t warned her.”

But when Sadie is kidnapped at gunpoint by two men in ski masks, her stubborn strength is tested beyond her imagining.

Now Sadie has disappeared, leaving Mark and her family wracked with worry. And Anna, Sadie’s youngest sister, desperate for Neil Hershberger’s attention, refuses to eat, plagued by an eating disorder as she fades away.

And yet, Mark’s younger brother Timothy appears, bringing unexpected life and hope to the family.

Mercifully, healing and courage reappear in unexpected times and places in this concluding volume of the Sadie’s Montana series.

My Opinion:
When I started reading this final book, I was a little disappointed with the way it was written. It is a little too fast paced and I was afraid Linda Byler took one of the biggest mysteries and just closed it in the first few chapters. But I kept reading, and I am SO happy I did. As usual Linda shocked and surprised me with this plot just like the last two. I then decided for this review to make a pros and cons list, but then I realized that the pros out weighed the cons too much. So let me just tell you that if you have read or are interested in the first two books do not hesitate to buy and read this last book. It ends wonderfully, wrapping loose ends, and with the promise of hope! You can't help but fall in love with the tight nit community and the many characters tie in through out! A good end with just as much surprise as the first two in the series. I highly recommend the whole series. There are issues with the editing, but that has more to do with the publishing and not the actual writing. Linda Byler's writing is always SO good and clear; the book gets better as you read on!

I have two songs again for this book is: "The Glory Of Love" by Bette Midler and "Standing On The Promises" by Alan Jackson
