More Info about Penny

I was sent a folder full of info on Penny and her books.  I thought I would share some of it with my readers who are interested.

"About the author of the Montana Skies Series:
Penny Zeller

Penny Zeller is the author of the Montana Skies Series from Whitaker House, known for her down-to-earth prose and creativity in the conveying spiritual truths with clarity and humor.  On her blog, "A Day in the Life of a Wife, Mom, and Author" she addresses the challenges and joys of day-to-day family like from her perspective as a stay-at-home Wyoming wife and mother.

Penny had loved to write since childhood, but it was in 2000 she dedicated her writing skills to God, making a commitment to use her talents to inspire others with the stories centered on God's love.  Her Montana Skies Series: McKenzie (2009), Kaydie (2010), and Haille (2011, her first in the historic romance genre, have been well-received by readers and critics alike.

Her previous books include: Hollyhocks (Booklocker 2003), written for children with food allergies; Wyoming Treasures (Medallion Books 2005), a living history of the region with interviews of residents who had lived through the depression, World War II and other significant events.  Her 2008 book from Beacon Hill, 77 Ways your Family Can Make a Difference, put her in the national spotlight with speaking engagements, radio, and television interviews, including syndicated programs on the ABC Family Channe;, CBN, and LESEA Networks.

Penny's articles have appeared in Woman's World, Brio, MomSense (official MOSP magazine), Victory in Grace, ePregnancy, Grit, Woman's Touch, Vibrant Life, Village Family Magazine, Teenage Christian Magazine, Hopscotch, Idaho Magazine, On the Line, and many more.

local women, "Sisters in Christ Community Girls Night Out," and enjoys canoeing, gardening, and playing volleyball with her family and friends.

"Penny Zeller's Montana Skies Series is receiving great reviews
Auto accident leads to dreams coming true for Sheridan (WY) writer
Writing a three book historical romance series was farthest thing from Penny Zeller's mind a few years ago when the car she and her family were traveling in collided with another vehicle in West Yellowstone going about 50 mph.

The Sheridan, Wyoming wife and mother of two says as she recovers from injuries sustained in that crash - thankful that she and her family were alive -- she prayed for direction regarding a longtime dream: writing novels that would draw readers closer to God.

As she healed, Zeller says her thoughts were filled "with ideas for plots and characters," that she jotted down and set aside.  It would take a few years and the completion of another successful nonfiction boo, 77 Ways Your Family Can Make a Difference (Beacon Hill 2008), but Zeller returned to her dream of publishing inspirational fiction.  She completed the manuscript for the Book One of her Montana Skies series, McKenzie, and sent it to Whitaker House, a Christian publisher based in Pittsburgh, PA, coincidentally shortly after the company decided to seek more historical fiction manuscripts." As I know and you may also there are no such things as coincidentes.  Everything is in God's plan. :) ~ASC

"McKenzie was the right book, at just the right time," said Whitaker House Vice President Bob Whitaker Jr. "Our Fiction department had been growing steadily over the past few years, but we couldn't keep up with the public's steadily growing appetite for Christian fiction, especially historical series."

McKenzie  revolves around the escapades of socialite McKenzie Worthington who escapes the confines of her proper Boston home by answering an ad for a mail order bride from a rancher in the Montana Territory.  Her real mission is to rescue her sister Kaydie (Book Two ) from an abusive outlaw husband, but the plot grows deep and thick as McKenzie develops feelings for the tender-hearted rancher she's using as a pawn.   Zeller deftly incorporates coming-of-age themes into the action-packed story as the spoiled McKenzie begins to grasp the unfathomable love and power of God.

Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive with Bonnie Calhoun, publisher of Christian Fiction Online writing: McKenzie is a sweet love story that transcends the pages of time and brings a fresh, new voice to the historical genre," and Rosenna M. White, senior editor for The Christian Review of Books calling it "a novel that will lead you on an adventure along with the title character and touch you heart as Zach touches hers."

Zeller is grateful her dream is becoming reality, but a little leery of being in the spotlight and the pull on her time for interviews, book signings, and speaking engagements.  But she says life goes on as normal in the Zeller household with her husband and two daughters: she continues sharing what day to day life is like in Sheridan, Wyoming with her growing base of Internet fans on her blog "A Day in the Life of a Wife, Mom, and Author" (www.pennyzeller.wordpress.com).

She's also thank for answered prayer -- and humbled by the spotlight.  "When I'm not writing, I'm taking care of my family or doing volunteer work - not doing interviews or book signing," she said, "But I am so thankful!  God used the devastation of a car wreck for something good and I owe Him all the glory!" "
