Swept Away Review!!!

*Swept Away by Mary Connealy

Book Description:
Swept away when her wagon train attempts a difficult river crossing, Ruthy MacNeil isn't all that upset at being separated from the family who raised her. All they've ever done is work her to the bone. She prayed for a chance to get away, and then came the raging flood. Alive but disoriented, she's rescued by Luke Stone...so unfortunately, there are more chances to die in her immediate future.

Luke is heading home to reclaim the ranch stolen from his family. But the men who killed his father are working hard to ensure Luke doesn't make it alive. He has no choice but to keep moving. Still, he can't just abandon Ruthy, so she'll have to come along.

His friends--a ragtag group of former Civil War soldiers--take a fast interest in the pretty gal. Luke thinks that's rather rude--he's the one who found her. And the more time he spends around the hard-working young woman who is a mighty good cook, the more he finds himself thinking beyond revenge and toward a different future. For the first time in a long time, Luke is tempted to turn from his destructive path and be swept away by love.

My Opinion:
Swept Away is an awesome tale!!! From the beginning to the end Mary Connealy captures your interest and won't let it go. She knows how to end a chapter and keeps you in suspense at time! :) Mary comes up with the greatest characters from a strong, hard workin', high climbin', fightin' red head; to a quiet, thoughtful, strong man with an awesome loving horse! I loved them all!!! (Especially the horse! :) ) The bad guys are REALLY bad, the good guys are great, and the actions scenes are wonderful!!! Strategy and good back stories comes into play with Mary's characters to. The first line of Mary's description in the back is all you need to define this book, "Mary Connealy writes romantic comedy with cowboys." Yup that's it exactly!!! :) Filled with humor but also some very serious scenes Swept Away has a little of everything. A story that is well written and can't be missed. A must read by far! :) I can't wait for Fired Up and the continued story of these characters!!! I also want to give a shout out to Dan Pitts for a excellent cover design! The characters within reflect those of the cover and I LOVE it when they do! :)

3 songs that I think fit somewhat with Swept Away are: "Swept Away" by Piano Music, and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by Shedaisy
