Summer's List  by Anita Higman

Book Description:
Summer's List (River North, June 2015)

A dying wish alters the course of a young woman's life.

Life hadn't been easy for Summer Snow. In acts of selflessness---caring for her ailing parents and running her grandmother's bookstore---she had forfeited her youth and dreams for the needs of others. And the only tries she had at love . . . didn't turn out. She had the bookstore, she had her beloved granny, but she was missing something---or someone.

Opportunity strikes when Granny sends Summer on an unexpected adventure with one Martin Langtree, a kind but gangly young man from Summer's past. A childhood friendship is rekindled, a romance is sparked, and mysteries are solved in one magical Texas summer. Will Summer strike out on love again, or will things finally go her way?

My Opinion:
Nice read!  I love Anita's writing style and her over all way with words.  I immediately wanted to read this book after reading the book description, especially with it's mention of mystery solving! ;)  There is sadness in this one and some heart wrenching scenes, but that just makes the story more realistic.  The concept is enjoyable and the feelings of "what's on that list!?" make it exciting! :)  I sometimes wish the pace was a little bit faster, but the interesting and sometimes quirky characters make it entertaining!  Starting out with humor and our lead in a little bit of distress Anita pulls you in and then starts introducing loveable, quirky, sweet, and not so sweet characters!  Will Summer complete her list or will she get hung up on the very first requirement?  How will this all changer her in the end?! :)  TO BE CONTINUED!

Now & Forever Review!!!!!!!

Now & Forever by Mary Connealy

Book Description:
Saddle up for romance and adventure with the Wilde sisters!

Shannon Wilde is the middle sister--and the one who loves animals. She's established her own homestead and is raising sheep for their wool. Things are going fine...until Shannon gets swept over a cliff by Matthew Tucker!

Tucker seizes every opportunity to get away from civilization, but one particular walk in the woods ends with him sprinting away from an angry grizzly and plunging into a raging river, accidentally taking Shannon Wilde with him. Their adventure in the wilderness results in the solitary mountain man finding himself hitched to a young woman with a passel of relatives, a homestead, and a flock of sheep to care for.

As Tucker and Shannon learn to live with each other, strange things begin to happen on Shannon's land. Someone clearly wants to drive her off, but whoever it is apparently didn't count on Tucker. Trying to scare Matthew Tucker just makes him mad--and trying to hurt the woman he's falling in love with sets off something even he never expected.

My Opinion:
Another Wild ride!!!  ;)  I'm always excited and disappointed when it comes to this series!  I get the book and I'm excited to start reading, then I finish the last word of the last page and I'm disappointed the book is over and I ate it up so fast! LOL!  I want to start it all over again!!!  But after reading this latest Wild at Heart installment I'm REALLY excited for the next one! :D  Now and Forever is an awesome story and I loved it even more than the first in this great series!  I really enjoy Shannon as a character and after getting to know Tucker even more I loved him all the more (but I also must admit that his horse is truly one of, if not my all time favorite, characters in this book!)!  There are sometimes when a mistake would pop up and make my brain go "what?" (example: it says her skirt disappeared around the corner after saying she wasn't in a skirt but britches), but a few things like that can't stop this story from being amazingly good!  And the hilarious, exciting, and entertaining scenes more than make up for anything!  And I want to thank Mary for her fade to black moments when writing around the marriage bed, they are done skillfully and beautifully!  As a single woman that only reads Christian fiction I MUCH prefer these kinds of scenes to those that get too graphic, even when the characters are married!  A bad guy is once again threatening one of the Wilde sisters, and if you threaten one you've threatened them all, and this time the danger is taken up a notch!  I'm not sure how I feel about the ending of this one and I don't think I will until I found out where these two go from here, if Mary elaborates, in the next one Fire and Ice.  Which, might I add, is the one I've been dying to read ever since reading the first one!  After being introduced to both Bailey and Gage Coulter, then further reading about these two great characters in Shannon and Tucker's story, I truly can not WAIT for the their story!!!!  From danger to humor, love and heartache, misunderstandings and new beginnings, Now & Forever is a well rounded story that will grab you from the very beginning and won't let you go!

Desperate Measures Review!!!!!

Desperate Measures by Sandra Orchard

Book Description:
Researcher Kate Adams has finally pinpointed the medicinal plant responsible for tearing her family apart. She's certain that discovering its secrets is her only hope of solving the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her father. Kate will risk anything to find the truth--even her budding relationship with Detective Tom Parker. But more people than she can fathom are after the plants and going it alone just might prove to be a fatal mistake.

Award-winning author Sandra Orchard pulls out all the stops in this breakneck and breathtaking conclusion to the Port Aster series. Fans will not be disappointed by the surprises they find inside.

My Opinion:
What an ending!!!  Wow!  I have been blessed to follow this series from beginning to end and I highly recommend anyone interested to start with number one and read all the way through!  Flowing from one book to the next Sandra's writing is awesome!  She adds humor and joy even in suspenseful moments!  I absolutely LOVE Kate!  She's the kind of character I ALWAYS love to read about because even when she's a "victim" she's never truly a victim because she NEVER stops fighting!  Even when she's backed into corner with no visible way of escape she doesn't stop fighting!!!  Paranoia abounds in this final addition and not just on the characters part! LOL!  I wasn't sure who was a good guy or a bad guy until everything's explained in the very end!  Twist after twist, explosions, secrets, lies, and more!  Filled with suspense and touches of romance!  I LOVE reading these books not just because of the great stories, but also because of all of the things I've learned from each of them, and of course the addition of recipes always makes me happy! ;)  Everything comes together and all secrets are revealed in this finale of the Port Aster Secrets series!  I highly recommend this book and this series as a whole!  And I can not WAIT for what Sandra has in store for us next! :)

"Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars,  "Just The Way You Are" by Barry White, "Hope in Front of Me" by Danny Gokey, and "More Than You Think I Am" by Danny Gokey
