The Beautiful Pretender Review & GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Beautiful Pretender by Melanie Dickerson

Book Description:
The Beautiful Pretender (Thomas Nelson, May 2016)

What happens when a margrave realizes he's fallen in love with a servant?

The Margrave of Thornbeck has to find a bride, fast. He invites ten noble-born ladies from around the country to be his guests at Thornbeck Castle for two weeks, a time to test these ladies and reveal their true character.

Avelina is only responsible for two things: making sure her deception goes undetected and avoiding being selected as the margrave's bride. Since the latter seems unlikely, she concentrates on not getting caught. No one must know she is merely a maidservant, sent by the Earl of Plimmwald to stand in for his daughter, Dorothea.

Despite Avelina's best attempts at diverting attention from herself, the margrave has taken notice. And try as she might, she can't deny her own growing feelings. But something else is afoot in the castle. Something sinister that could have far worse---far deadlier---consequences. Will Avelina be able to stop the evil plot? And at what cost?

My Opinion:
AWESOME!  I've heard GREAT things about Melanie's books, but until now I hadn't read one!  After reading The Beautiful Pretender I am going to be one of the ones to praise her writing style and imaginative plot!  I CAN'T WAIT to read more from Melanie!  Beauty & The Beast has long been one of my favorite fairy tales.  A bookish, somewhat odd girl finding love in spite of trials....who doesn't like that?! ;)  But I have to say that Melanie has made it EVEN BETTER!  A lot of the key points in B&tB are threaded throughout, but she has written completely unique and different circumstances, characters, and settings for the plot to play out!  I DEVOURED this book! :D  And would happily read it again and again!  Filled with fabulous and lovable characters and amazing twists and turns this is an adventure you don't want to miss out on!
I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this Christian Beauty & The Beast!!!

  3. I've read all of Melanie's books minus this one and her Regency novel. I think my favorite is The Healer's Apprentice, just because it was my first of her's (and my fave cover art of the Hagenheim Fairy Tales). Kind of curious that this is also a Beauty & the Beast retelling, which The Merchant's Daughter adapted ... Anyway, thanks for the chance to win!

    1. WOW! Awesome! I think she adapted Beauty and the Beast again because these Medieval tales are a different series........but I can't say that for sure and for certain! :) Anyways I LOVE it! :D And I'm positive you will to! Thank you for entering!

    2. It might be a different series --She got switched from Zondervan to Thomas Nelson, I believe, though both publishers are under the same company.

    3. Oh ok. I did check out her site (which I LOVE :) ) and it is a different series. She has them all listed there so I don't know why they keep combining them into one big list instead of sectioning them off by series. Just to confuse me! LOL! Thank you for tweeting!

  4. I have not read a book by this author yet. But your enthusiastic review has me intrigued enough to enter your giveaway. I have always been a fan of fairytales and have never read a Medieval peroxide book. Obviously my experience is lacking. Thank you so much. I'm following you on this site
as well as on Network blogs.

    1. Thank you so much Diane for your kind words! :) I'm glad my enthusiasm and love for this book came through in my review! It really is AWESOME! Medieval is becoming very popular lately, and I can't say that I'm not enjoying it! ;) I love a good Medieval tale if it's got that Christian thread through out! Thank you for entering and for following!!!!
