As fans of Boeshaar’s books have come to expect, Too Deep for Words is a meticulously researched novel. Readers are taken directly into the heart of the realities of the Civil War and reminded how, even in the darkest circumstances, faith in Christ offers hope.
I'm torn with this one. :/ The beginning was good, the middle was intriguing, but closer to the end Carrie really frustrated me. For one I wished she had prayed through her ordeal. I wish she had remained more faithful and prayed! I don't want to give anything away, but what she did really bothered me. I also wish things had been different with her sister's story and many of the other characters. I'm not sure I want to continue in this series, but I do hope there is another book coming since this one leaves you completely hanging. I also have a couple of issues with the book description, because I felt like the last sentence wasn't expressed much (or at least as much as I think it should've/could've been). I did really love the faith changes Margaret underwent though. The pace is fantastic also. There have been books that a too sluggish and I'm frustrated with characters so I can't even finish the book. This is not the case with Too Deep for Words however. Andrea writes in a very captivating way unraveling the story at just the right speed to keep you interested, but feeling you can put the book down if you need to.
