Restless and adventurous, Ruthie Stoltzfus is right on the cusp of leaving her Amish home. Secretly, she’s earned her GED, saved her money—but she can’t quite set her journey into motion. Just as everything falls into place, along comes Patrick Kelly.
Patrick is a young man on a journey of his own. He’s come to Stoney Ridge to convert to the Amish and has given himself thirty days to learn the language, drive a buggy, and adapt to “everything Plain.” Time is of the essence and every moment is to be cherished—especially the hours he spends with Ruthie, his Penn Dutch tutor.
Ruthie’s next-door neighbor and cunning ex-boyfriend, Luke Schrock, is drawn to trouble like a moth to a flame. Rebellious, headstrong, defiant, Luke will do anything to win Ruthie back—and Patrick Kelly is in his way.
Bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher invites you back to Stoney Ridge for a story of dreams deferred—and the promise of hopes fulfilled.

My Opinion:
OH SO GOOD!!!!!  The end it bittersweet though!  I SO DID NOT want this series to end!  The only thing that kept me from being too sad was knowing (hoping) that Suzanne will continue to use these characters or at least let us know what they're up to.... RIGHT SUZANNE?! ;)  This is my favorite series that I've read from Suzanne so far!  This family has been one of my favorites and this book in particular touched my heart in so many ways!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Spiritual lessons these characters learn through this journey.  There are sad moments that made me cry, but then right after there's a light hearted scene that made me laugh through the tears!  David is becoming such a good bishop, but he faces much turmoil in his new role.  And I truly loved the slight parallelism between two of my favorite characters Ruthie and Dok.  Filled with love, humor, joy, sadness, surprises, shocks, new beginnings, and ends, this final story in The Bishop's Family series is so full it will leave you reflective and longing for more!  I HIGHLY recommend this read and this whole series!!!

Waves of Mercy Review!!!!

Waves of Mercy by Lynn Austin

Book Description:
Geesje de Jonge crossed the ocean at age seventeen with her parents and a small group of immigrants from the Netherlands to settle in the Michigan wilderness. Fifty years later, in 1897, she's asked to write a memoir of her early experiences as the town celebrates its anniversary. Reluctant at first, she soon uncovers memories and emotions hidden all these years, including the story of her one true love.

At the nearby Hotel Ottawa Resort on the shore of Lake Michigan, twenty-three-year-old Anna Nicholson is trying to ease the pain of a broken engagement to a wealthy Chicago banker. But her time of introspection is disturbed after a violent storm aboard a steamship stirs up memories of a childhood nightmare. As more memories and dreams surface, Anna begins to question who she is and whether she wants to return to her wealthy life in Chicago. When she befriends a young seminary student who is working at the hotel for the summer, she finds herself asking him all the questions that have been troubling her.

Neither Geesje nor Anna, who are different in every possible way, can foresee the life-altering surprises awaiting them before the summer ends.

My Opinion:
Fascinating journey of Faith!  Lynn Austin sucks me in with her lovable characters and intriguing plot twists and this new book from her is NO exception!  Every Christian Fiction book should have as much Faith, and mention God as much as this book does!  Trials and tragedy weave among the joy and love in these characters lives.  This story is mainly about Geejse; her life and how the other characters weave into it.  This is a refreshing kind of love story also!  In both the past and the present I found myself thinking I knew who I wanted the ladies to end up with, but Lynn writes in a way that will tug your heart in other directions mid stream!!! :D  There are SO many fabulous messages and lessons that touched my heart deeply!  I did not want this book to end, and would LOVE for Lynn to continue with these characters if she had a mind to! :)  I'd gladly pick up a book furthering Anna or Derk's stories!  Truly a fascinating and beautiful tale of love, loss, Faith, romance, and God's faithful love throughout!!!

A Sister's Wish Review!!!!!!!

A Sister's Wish by Shelley Shepard Grey

Book Description:
A Sister's Wish (Avon Inspire, September 2016)

In Shelley Shepard Gray's third book in her Charmed Amish Life series, a respectable young woman finds herself falling for an Amish man from the wrong side of the tracks.

Amelia Kinsinger is the perfect Amish woman---at least according to her neighbors. And while Amelia takes pride in her role as homemaker, she's also harboring a secret: She's been in love with bad boy Simon Hochstetler for as long as she can remember.
Too bad he's about as far from "perfect" as an Amish man could get
...but that's exactly why she's so drawn to him.

Life hasn't been kind to Simon. He ran away from an abusive home at fifteen and things went downhill from there. Eventually, Simon landed in prison. But the experience changed him. Now back in Charm as a grown man, he's determined to make a new life for himself and not think too much about his wild past . . . unless it pertains to Amelia.

He's loved Amelia for years. To him, she represents everything good and kind in the world. When he realizes that she returns his affections, he starts calling on her in secret, even though her older brother Lukas---who just happens to be Simon's best friend---has made it perfectly clear that Amelia deserves better. Simon disagrees and believes he's the only one who can truly make her happy.

But when Amelia gets hurt, it sets off a chain of events that forces them to consider their future together---and face their past mistakes. There's a chance for love . . . but only if Simon dares to trust Amelia with the secrets of his past.

My Opinion:
Sweet read! :)  This is the one I was waiting for in this series!  I enjoyed the other sibling's tales, but I was rooting for Simon and Amelia since's Rebekah's story.  Shelley starts this one with a bang!  And throws us right into the action and drama!  I LOVE IT!  I also loved that we learn more about Simon's past and the new characters it leads to! :)  This is a story of healing and rising above one's past.  I really love all of the animals that are mixed in with these great characters.  And the last scene of this book is one of my favorites of the whole series!  This is a great fall read leading up to Thanksgiving!  :)

ABOUT The Steadfast Love SERIES

In 16th-century Europe, the Reformation rages between Protestants and Catholics. Gwyneth, half-Dutch, flees from England to Holland to escape the man who murdered her parents. When he follows her there and insists he came to rescue her, will she trust this man called Dirk? When tragedy strikes, will their steadfast love erode?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

"Times gone by" snatch Rachelle Rea Cobb close, so she reads and writes about years long ago--her passions include the Reformation, Revolutions, and romance. Rachelle wrote the Steadfast Love series during college. Five months after she graduated, she signed a three-book deal with her dream publisher, WhiteFire. She's a homeschool grad, Oreo addict, and plots her novels while driving around her dream car, a pick-up truck. In June 2016, she married a man with the same name as her fictional hero, and they live happily ever after in Small Town, South.

The Sound of Diamonds

Her only chance of getting home is trusting the man she hates.

With the protestant Elizabeth on the throne of England and her family in shambles, Catholic maiden Gwyneth seeks refuge in the Low Countries of Holland, hoping to soothe her aching soul. But when the Iconoclastic Fury descends and bloodshed overtakes her haven, she has no choice but to trust the rogue who arrives, promising to see her safely home to her uncle's castle. She doesn't dare to trust him...and yet doesn't dare to refuse her one chance to preserve her own life and those of the nuns she rescues from the burning convent.

Dirk Godfrey is determined to restore his honor at whatever cost. Running from a tortured past, Dirk knows he has only one chance at redemption, and it lies with the lovely Gwyneth, who hates him for the crimes she thinks he committed. He must see her to safety, prove to the world that he is innocent, prove that her poor eyesight is not the only thing that has blinded her, but what is he to do when those goals clash?

The home Gwyneth knew is not what she once thought. When a dark secret and a twisted plot for power collide in a castle masquerading as a haven, the saint and the sinner must either dare to hold to hope...or be overcome.
