Keep spreading Kindness!

 Galatians 6:9 KJV And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Boy I needed this today. It seems that any time we try to do something kind no matter how big or small there's always someone there to treat us hatefully and discourage us. In something as small as asking if anyone can give you someone's mailing address or leaving a cart in the handicap section of walmart in case someone needs it's aid to get to the store, satan continues to send out people that will abuse you and put you down. But please allow me to encourage you today: don't let their mean words and actions stop you for doing something from the kindness of your heart! Don't let hate win! Keep going Child of God, keep spreading kindness! Keep shining the light of Jesus! God sees and His approval is the only one that truly matters!

Example of Sin: Goat heads

 Genesis 3:17-18 KJV And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field

Goat heads! Doesn't the very mention of them make you grimace? It does if you've ever stepped on one! And yet such painful little spikes come from a sweet looking little plant. When it blooms it's sweet little yellow flowers look so pretty, but they lead to something so painful! That's a picture of the snare of sin. Satan is a deceiver, he wants you to focus on the pretty fern like green leaves and sit among the lovely yellow flowers of your sin, but all too soon the sting of pain comes from the thorns of consequences. That's why Colossians 3:2 (KJV) tells us to “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” God only ever wants to protect us. His laws and instructions are truly for our good no matter what the world says to try and deceive us.

Beware Pride!

 Proverbs 16:18 KJV Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.

The perfect picture of pride and it's treachery came from a little gray kitten and an empty stock tank pool! The Lord blessed us with a batch of baby kitties five orange and one gray little girl. There are few things more entertaining to watch than kitties! :) On this particular day their playful antics led them to the empty stock tank pool. While her brothers got into the empty pool and romped around learning how to jump high enough to get back out, little gray sat on the thick lip of the pool looking down on them. But that wasn't enough for her, the lesson on pride came when she decided to strut around the lip and haughtily stick her nose in the air. This of course resulted in her slipping and nearly falling off the outside of the pool. She wildly twisted and stretched to catch herself and haul herself back up before she completely fell off. Looking around as if saying “oh , she meant to do that!” didn't cover the fact that she learned not to get too big for her britches again. Pride always leads to problems, even when you're a baby kitty! :)

Jesus is my Best Friend!

John 15:15 KJV Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

I think I was 5 when I first found a person I wanted to be my friend! She and I were playing and having a great time! I found my opening and nervously I asked her what I had rehearsed over and over in my head! “Do you want to be my friend?” I waited with baited breathe for the yes I just knew was coming! She said “No”. My little heart was bruised. But today I had a realization! Had I not experienced the pain of this rejection as a child, I might not fully understand the magnitude of Jesus saying Yes! He'll be my friend! So I look back on that memory now and smile because I know that when I ask Jesus if He wants to be my friend, the answer is ALWAYS YES! 

SONflower!

 John 8:12 KJV Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Sunflowers are fascinating flowers. They follow the sun throughout the day and it makes their stems stronger with the movement. When we keep our eye on Jesus The Light of the world we too are made stronger! Then when the sunflower has brought forth seeds it looks like it's bowing. Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers because when I look at sunflowers I'm reminded I should be a SONflower: keeping my eyes on Jesus and bowing before His Awesome power!
