Fatal Exchange by Lisa Harris
Book Description:
Emily Hunt might come from a family of cops, but she never goes looking for an adrenaline rush. She lives the quiet--well, relatively quiet--life of a teacher and thrives on making a difference in the lives of her students. But she'll have to draw on a well of strength and savvy she didn't know she had as student Rafael Cerda takes her class hostage for ransom money to save his brother's life.
Undercover cop Mason Taylor has been working with Rafael to find his brother and bring the cartel thugs who hold him to justice. Can he talk Rafael down from his impulsive actions? And is there something more sinister at work here than he realizes?
My Opinion:
A good read!!! Fatal Exchange is another great mystery from author Lisa Harris. For me it started a little slow then BAM! Lisa blew me out of the water with a plot twist that leaves a class room full of kids held at gun point! From there the pace picked up and the twists kept coming! I absolutely LOVE the way Lisa blends Faith in her characters and their lives. Their prayers are realistic as they try to survive danger and conquer their fears! The departments mole re-surfaces and stirs up all kinds of trouble. And more about Avery and Emily's brother Michael's murder case is revealed! After glancing at the provided excerpt I can't wait for the next book to see what lies in store for the Hunt family next. Favorites from the last book come back to help solve this new case filled with murder, kidnapping, and links to the cartel. There where lulls in the pace from time to time, but then another adrenaline shot would pop up! This is a highly entertaining read with great Spiritual lessons, fear, love, family, pain, danger, mystery, betrayal, and much more!
Songs that I think go with Fatal Exchange or *are mentioned in it's pages*: "Forgiveness" by Matthew West, *"[Sittin' On] The Dock Of The Bay" by Otis Redding*, *"Joy To The World"* by Bing Crosby, and "You Won't Let Go" by Michael W. Smith
Songs etc. may be changed or added in the future.
