The Dandelion Field Review Part 1!!!!
The Dandelion Field by Kathryn Springer
Book Description:
This handsome firefighter makes a living coming to the rescue, but Gin doesn't need a man to fight her battles. After Raine's dad walked out, Ginevieve Lightly never lived in one place too long, a rambling lifestyle that defined her daughter's youth. When their car dies in Banister Falls, Wisconsin, Gin promises Raine they can stay until she finishes her senior year of high school. Gin will do anything to make sure her daughter has a bright future . . . a future that's compromised when Raine reveals she's pregnant.
Dan Moretti has only ever called Banister Falls home. After losing his best friend in a tragic accident, Dan devoted himself to responding to fires, rescuing the helpless, and guiding Cody Bennett, his best friend's son, through life. With Cody being the epitome of the good kid, it was an easy job. Until he says four little words: "The baby is mine."
Knowing gossip of Raine's pregnancy will erupt sooner or later in the small town, Gin's reflex is to grab the suitcase and escape to a new city, a new life. But with each passing day, Gin's feet stay rooted in Banister Falls, and she falls a little more for this local firefighter who shows her not all men abandon women at the first sign of smoke.
As Gin and Dan do the best they can to guide the two teenagers through their early entry into adulthood, they discover together that romance can bloom in the rockiest of situations. And God can turn the pieces of a broken past into a beautiful new beginning.

Interesting. This is my first Kathryn Springer book, and I really enjoy her writing and I LOVE the length of her chapters! Her style of back and forth between past and present is lovely. Plus including different characters thoughts and views adds to the story and helps explain how everything came about! The whole situation shows how the most grounded in Faith still have human moments and make mistakes. I really feel for Gin as a character. Struggling through life and trying to make things good for her daughter, but still running from everything that scares her. And I immediately fell in love with Dan and the kind of man he is and Cody as he tries to grow into a good and responsible man himself! I have a few issues with Cody's mom, but I have to also feel for her in this shocking situation. Caught between a rock and a hard place will these characters slowly fall apart or will the lean on God to get them through?

My Opinion:
I just LOVE Liz's writing! The way she tells stories just sucks you in and won't let you go! Her topics are always interesting {although I've read we have her son to thank for this one's location so thank you Brian! :) } and I love how she teaches history through fantastic characters and awesome stories! This, once again, reflects the tragedies during the war and the outcome effecting even the most innocent! The twists keep you wondering what's going on as you read, and the interesting characters just add to the mysteries! I always LOVE how Liz wraps everything in Faith and her expressive descriptions makes you feel like your right there with the characters. Pain, Faith, fear, danger, love, hope, and much more! With settings I didn't expect, even after reading the book description, who will survive?

A Stitch in Crime Review!!!!!
A Stitch in Crime by Cathy Elliott
Book Description:
About Quilts of Love: Quilts tell stories of love and loss, hope and faith, tradition and new beginnings. The Quilts of Love series focuses on the women who quilted all of these things into their family histories. A new book releases each month and features contemporary and historical romances as well as women's fiction and the occasional light mystery. You will be drawn into the endearing characters of this series and be touched by their stories.
Thea James has accepted an assignment as co-chairperson for Larkindale's first quilt show extravaganza. Juggling the new assignment with running her antique business, she's already feeling frayed when things start to unravel.
Mary-Alice Wentworth, a much-loved town matriarch, respected quilt judge, and Thea's dear friend, is covertly conked on the head during the kick-off Quilt Show Soiree, throwing suspicion on her guests. It also appears that a valuable diamond brooch has been stolen during the attack. The family is furious. But is it because of their mugged mother or the missing diamonds?
When a renowned textile expert goes MIA and the famous Wentworth heritage quilt disappears, Larkindale's reputation as a tourist haven is at risk. Thea attempts to piece the mystery together and save the town's investment in the quilt show before Mary-Alice is attacked again . . . with far worse results.
Learn more about this book and the series at the Quilts of Love website.

My Opinion:
Interesting and easy read. This is my first Cathy Elliott book and so I didn't know what to expect. I enjoyed the characters, though there were some things about the main character Thea that bothered me a little off and on, but I came to enjoy her and I LOVE her grandmother!!!! Thea really puts up with more than I would from other characters in the book, but I do like how some come around in the end. And she leans toward the dramatic, which was both entertaining and a bit much! LOL! The mystery was interesting and twisty. And I LOVE the way Cathy weaves in scripture and Faith, plus the messages of Forgiveness are an excellent addition. I kinda felt like I started a series in the middle and I should already know these characters. Jumping right into them without much introduction in the beginning, I felt like there was another book I should have read before this. I do LOVE how Cathy ties everything up and explains everything in the end. There was one thing mentioned in the book and then it didn't match up with another conversation at one time that I'm not sure if I didn't read it right or if it was a mix up. Overall I am glad that I read this book and would recommend it to someone looking for a nice and easy mystery that is quirky and light.
Songs that go with the feelings and theme of the book and some are also straight out of the book!: "Rock Of Ages" performed by Perry Como, "Sweet Betsy From Pike" performed by Rex Allen, "Oh, Susanna!" by Larry Groce, and "Serenade No. 13 in G Major, K. 525 "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik": I: Allegro" performed by The Cavendish Orchestra

like a Flower in Bloom Review!!!!!!!
like a Flower in Book by Siri Mitchell
Book Description:
He Stole the Work She Loved.
Will She Let Him Steal Her Heart as Well?
It's all her uncle's fault. For years Charlotte Withersby has been free to pursue her love of plants and flowers by assisting her botanist father. But now that she's reached the old age of twenty-two, an intrusive uncle has convinced her father that Charlotte's future--the only proper future for a woman--is to be a wife and mother, not a scholar.
Her father is so dependent on her assistance that Charlotte believes he'll soon change his mind...and then Edward Trimble shows up. A long-time botany correspondent in the South Pacific, Trimble arrives ready to step in as assistant so that Charlotte can step out into proper society--a world that baffles her with its unwritten rules, inexplicable expectations, and confounding fashion.
Things aren't perfectly smooth between Trimble and her father, so Charlotte hatches a last gasp plan. She'll pretend such an interest in marriage that the thought of losing her will make her father welcome her back. Only things go quickly awry, and she realizes that the one man who recognizes her intelligence is also the person she's most angry with: Edward Trimble, her supposed rival. Suddenly juggling more suitors than she knows what to do with, Charlotte is caught in a trap of her own making. Will she have no choice but to leave her beloved flowers behind?
My Opinion:
A Simply charming and entertaining book! I absolutely LOVE this book and the inspiration it gave me! It has immediately jumped to my Favorites Books List! This is the first of Siri Mitchell's books that I had the pleasure to read! I found her style and humor to be wonderful from the very first! The pace is speedy with no lulls and the characters are fantastic! I LOVE Charlotte, she is a highly entertaining character that made me smile nearly all the way through! I also felt a connection to her and what she goes through! The conversations between characters and the surprises that take place are fabulous! I didn't want to put this book down! Filled with a witty humor at every turn this is a Must read that I couldn't help but share! I enjoyed learning more about botany as well as what was considered polite society and "good manners" at this time in history (sometimes I laughed so hard during "scandalous" scenes I almost cried)! I really enjoyed the point Siri brings out, that if people, at this time, were allowed to express their thoughts and feelings things wouldn't get so confusing sometimes! (but it was highly entertaining when things did get confusing for these characters! LOL!) I love how it starts, I love how it progresses, and I love how it ends!!!! I would love to read it again and I can't wait to read more from Siri!
Songs that go with the book: "The Nutcracker - Waltz Of The Flowers" performed by Berlin Symphonic Orchestra and
"Just As I Am" performed by Alan Jackson
