The Trouble with Patience Review!!!!

The Trouble with Patience by Maggie Brendan

Book Description:
Patience Cavanaugh has lost hope in romance. The man she yearned to marry is dead and her dreams are gone with him. Now she is consumed with restoring a dilapidated boardinghouse in order to support herself.

Despite Patience's desire for solitude, Jedediah Jones, the local marshal with a reputation for hanging criminals, becomes an ever-looming part of her life. It seems like such a simple arrangement: She needs someone with a strong back to help her fix up the boardinghouse. He needs a dependable source of food for himself and his prisoners. But as she gets to know this "hanging lawman," Patience finds there is far more to him than meets the eye--and it could destroy their tenuous relationship forever.

My Opinion:
So different from the book description.  The Trouble with Patience is really not much like the back cover described!  Or at least nothing that I was expecting after reading the book description.  I was immediately entertained when these characters began to interact!  And I really grew to love them!  Great surprises included a murder mystery, cattle rustling, and more!  I really loved the pace in the beginning, and the middle flowed beautifully, but the last few chapters drug a little for me.  But I absolutely LOVED the Epilogue!  Full of historical detail in places and people, Maggie weaves in facts with her fiction nicely!  The story kept me interested and the twists kept me on my toes, figuring them out only a little before the characters did!  Overall this book turned out to be SO much more than I thought it was and I am really happy it did!  I expected a sweet love story, with some humorous moments.  What I got was more than one whole love story, lessons on forgiveness, complete mysteries, great character relationships and growth, and so much more!  The Trouble with Patience is an entertaining read and I'm happy I got the opportunity to read it!

Songs that I think fit the story: "
Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" by Alan Jackson, "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)" by Chris Tomlin, and "Forgiveness" by Matthew West
Songs etc. May be changed and/or added in the future. ~ASC
