My Opinion:
I really like this sweet read! Just like the first in the series Suzanne throws in twists after turns! The Calling is more about Bethany and what she's gonna go through. I really liked getting to know this character more and from the beginning I was hooked and shocked at what Bethany finds! :D I always loved the Jimmy Fisher/Bethany relationship and I really love all the growing these two characters go through! A lot of growing and changing comes in these pages where all of the characters are concerned actually. Mim's, Mrs. Miracle letters continue and this is really the part that left me wanting. There is one letter in particular that I wanted more from. Suzanne also adds new characters along with the old, and I love the way she blends Amish with English. The latest guest to the Inn at Eagle Hill is one that I grew to love from the very beginning! She really helps Bethany through her journey all while God leads her to find her own place and purpose. I love the awesome messages as well as the pace of the story. Surprise returns, shocking revelations, and possibly new secrets as well as answers to old ones. The Calling is a wonderful journey that I liked just as much if not more than the first! I can't wait for the next book to see where these characters lives go next!!!

Loved your comment about Mim and the Mrs. Miracle letters...you'll have to let me know which letter you wanted more from. Glad you enjoyed that part of the story! It's a challenge to write from a young teen's perspective without having the story bog down or sound child-ish.
