The Christmas Quilt Review!!!

The Christmas Quilt by Vannetta Chapman

Book Description:
Annie's life is deliciously full as the Christmas season approaches. She helps her husband, Samuel, attend to the community's minor medical needs. She occasionally assists Belinda, the local midwife, and most days, she finds herself delivering the buggy to her brother Adam. Annie's sister-in-law Leah is due to deliver their first child before Christmas morning, and Annie is determined to finish a crib quilt before the boppli arrives. With six weeks to go, she should have no problem . . . but God may have a different plan. Leah is rushed to the English hospital when the infant arrives early, and Annie discovers the Christmas quilt may hold a far greater significance than she ever imagined.

My Opinion:
Wonderful read!  I love Amish and I love quilting so when I saw this book I thought why not?!  :)  I really enjoyed it!  Sometimes the pace was a little slow for my liking, but then other times it was nicely paced and kept me intrigued!  I LOVE the parts about the quilt, and how it becomes so much more than just a nice blanket.  This is a nice Amish read with some suspense and full of wonderful characters that I fell in love with.  I really want to read more about these characters and find out more about their stories.  I absolutely love the cover with the beautiful quilt!  I always love a visual! :D  From seeing God's provision to learning to trust and rely on Him on a deeper level the messages are beautifully expressed.  And I love the way it flows from a little before Thanksgiving, to Thanksgiving, and into to Christmas.  Vannetta is an expressive author and I love the way she describes things.  Just enough for me to picture it, but not too much detail or too many words.  Family, friendship, and the miracles of babies!  This is a very enjoyable read. :)

Songs: "How Great Thou Art" performed by Carrie Underwood, "All I Can Do (Thank You) (Single)" by Mikeschair, and "We Gather Together" by The Joslin Grove Choral Society

*I received this book because I am a member of Litfuse and I wanted to review it.  This in no way affected my opinion and the above is my true take away from The Christmas Quilt.
